Fishing licence is obligatory in Estonia when you are fishing on a boat, using a spinning rod or more than one regular fishing rods.

Fishing licence is not obligatory in case you are:

• Pre-school age or below 16
• A pensioner
• Disabled.

(You must have a valid document with you to receive this benefit; document is not required for pre-school aged children)

You can buy a fishing license in Estonia from a fishing shop or use a mobile payment method. For a mobile payment you need an Estonian mobile prepaid card (usually they cost from 25 to 100 kroons).
Using your phone, call 1312*400*0YYMMDD0000, where YY represents the final numbers of your birth year, MM-birth month, DD-Birthday. The 0 - are zero-s.

This number belongs to the Estonian Ministry of Environment and allows you to fish legally for 24 hours.  After successful payment you will receive a confirmation SMS. One-day fishing permission costs 19 kroons (taxes and service fee included) and is withdrawn from your mobile bill or from the prepaid account.

• 402 – 6-month permission (128 kroons)
• 403 – one-year permission (188 kroons)
